CHANGELOG

What we’ve shipped.

Every entry below is live in production. Dates are the day the change reached tatara.app, not the day it was planned.

This is the product half of the record. The thinking behind it is in the Ledger, and what Tatara is and who builds it is on the about page.

  1. More room on the free plan

The free plan’s document cap rose from 50 to 500, and it still needs no card.

  2. A colour pass across the app

Panels, popovers, records and the dashboard now sit on one shared set of background colours, so contrast holds in light and dark instead of drifting from screen to screen.

  3. Tables, bases and boards fill the pane

A table, a base view or a kanban board is now the document pane rather than a card floating inside it. Wide data gets the full width of the window.

  4. Share a document with a link

An HTML document can be given a public link that anyone can open, with no Tatara account and no sign-in.

  5. See a brain as a graph

A new view draws the whole brain in three dimensions: every document a node, every link an edge, and new documents arriving as they are written.

  6. Navigation built for deep folder trees

Folders have their own pages, breadcrumbs show the full path, and the sidebar follows the branch you are working in instead of flattening everything below the second level.

  7. Lock a document

A locked document refuses every change, from a person or an agent, until someone unlocks it. Use it for the pages that should not move.

  8. Create a board, tracker, table or mind map yourself

The four structured formats used to be written only by agents. They can now be created from the sidebar like any other document.

  9. PDFs

PDFs can be stored in a brain and read in place, as a second kind of governed asset alongside images.

  10. Favourites

Star a document from the sidebar or the topbar and it pins to the top of the tree. Favourites are yours, not the company’s.

  11. Dashboards

A dashboard is a document that queries the rest of the brain: counts, ratios, lists, tables and cards that stay current as documents change around them.

  12. Images in a brain

Images can be uploaded into a brain and embedded in documents, including the HTML ones an agent writes.

  13. Agents can curate the taxonomy

Agents can register, rename and delete tags and custom fields over MCP, so the vocabulary of a brain stays tidy without a person doing the filing. Document tools also return a link to the document on the web.

  14. Mind maps

A mind map format where headings become branches and nested list items become sub-topics, on a canvas you can edit directly. The file underneath is still Markdown.

  15. A brain can carry its own rules

Each brain holds an organisation guide covering how folders are used, how documents are filed and what belongs where. Agents read it before they write.

  16. Custom fields

A brain-wide registry of typed fields, enforced on every write and shown in the document rail, with a page for managing them. When a write does not fit, the agent is told the exact field and type.

  17. Documentation at docs.tatara.app

Tatara’s documentation went live: how to set up a brain, connect an agent, and use each format.

  18. Plans, billing and a rebuilt homepage

Self-serve plans with a 14-day trial, and a homepage rebuilt around what the product actually does. The free plan stayed free: 50 documents, no card.

  19. Tables with typed columns and formulas

A table format with typed columns (text, number, checkbox, date, select) and formula columns. Computed values are written back into the document, so an agent reads the same numbers a person sees.

  20. Task trackers

A checklist format with sections, due dates, priorities and tags, grouped on the fly. Still a plain Markdown task list underneath.

  21. Delete, restore, move and rename, with an audit trail

Documents and folders can be deleted and brought back, moved and renamed, by a person or an agent. Every change now writes an audit record naming who, or what, made it.

  22. Kanban boards

Columns come from headings and cards from checklist items. Dragging a card rewrites the Markdown, so the board and the file never disagree.

  23. Base views

A saved, filterable table view across the documents in a brain: a query you can keep instead of a folder you have to browse.

  24. Members and invitations

Invite people into a brain as owners or members. It stops being a folder the moment there is a second person in it.

  25. HTML documents

Agents can write complete, self-contained HTML documents, such as a report, a one-pager or a visual summary, rendered read-only in the browser.

  26. Links between documents

Wikilinks resolve to real documents, heal themselves when a title changes, and both directions of the link show in the document rail.

  27. Live sync

Documents sync as they change. Two people, or a person and an agent, see the same thing without anyone pressing refresh.
